“Element” is an experimental symbol typeface, containing 12 characters that were extracted and developed from a physical object (a hookah).

The 3D object was deconstructed into a large number of 2D shapes, and then born again as an alphabet. Finally, I used a variety of woodworking machines to cut the letters out of wood into large physical types used for printing.
